Eric
Sanders is a playwright and producer via his company The Thursday Problem.
He
is the creator and producer of the hit collection of horror plays, Dread Awakening, at the 45th
Street Theatre, featuring Robert Funaro from HBO's "The Sopranos." He is also the
creator and co-producer of the sold-out smash collection of short plays, f**kplays, at the Ohio Theatre and
Galapagos Art Space, as well as the creator and co-producer of the standing
room-only theatrical event, Dewey's Nightmare,
which raised money for childhood literacy. He is the associate
producer of the hit off-Broadway indie-rock musical, Hostage Song, written by Kyle Jarrow and Clay McLeod Chapman at the
Kraine Theater. He co-created and
associate-produced New York is Dead,
a five-day theatre and art festival at the Ohio Theater presented by Working
Man's Clothes and Soho Thinktank. On Broadway, he was the associate producer to
Robert Ahrens on Xanadu, as well as
the associate to the producer for four years on such productions as Glengarry Glen Ross with Alan Alda and
Liev Schreiber, The Pajama Game with
Harry Connick, Jr., Enchanted April with
Molly Ringwald, The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial with David Schwimmer, and many others.
His
plays include: It's a Dry Heat (dir. Isaac Butler), which
recently received a reading at Playwrights Horizons presented by Studio 42 starring Constantine Maroulis,
Gillian Jacobs and Isabel Keating; 1.1-1.7 (dir. Stephen Brackett) as part of f**kplays at the Ohio Theatre and
Galapagos Art Space; Sleep Mask (dir. Amanda Charlton) as
part of Dread Awakening at the 45th
Street Theatre; The
Hillside (dir. Daniel Kutner), which was recently read at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater
starring Lucille Lortel-winner Christopher Denham; Ixomia (dir. Stephen Brackett), produced at the 2007 Crown Point

Eric
spent two summers at the Williamstown Theatre Festival, as a Directing Intern
in 2002 and as a member of the Act One Company in 2001. He studied acting with legendary teacher Wynn
Handman, as well as at the Stella Adler Conservatory at NYU. Eric
was born in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, and has lived in Long
Island, Westchester, and New York City since he was five years old.
